Why structural drying matters

Before meaningful drying can begin, the source of water must be identified and controlled.

Where the source isn’t obvious, AquaKare can use specialist leak detection methods to investigate hidden plumbing or heating leaks before the drying process begins.

02. Assess the Damage

We assess the areas affected by water and moisture, including visible and potentially concealed parts of the property.

The construction materials involved, extent of saturation and duration of exposure all influence the appropriate drying strategy.

03. Remove Excess Water

Where necessary, standing water or excessive free moisture is removed before controlled drying begins.

This is consistent with recognised professional drying principles, where removal of excess water is the first stage before stabilising conditions and encouraging evaporation

04. Install Drying Equipment

Depending on the circumstances, professional dehumidifiers, air-moving equipment and other drying techniques can be used to create conditions that encourage moisture to leave affected materials.

Professional drying may include reducing moisture within the air that helps create conditions that encourage moisture to move out of wet materials. Then controlled air movement can support evaporation from affected surfaces and building materials.  This is followed by specialist instruments help assess the progress of drying and identify areas where elevated moisture remains. In some cases targeted drying may need to focus on particular floor, wall or cavity constructions rather than simply treating the whole room uniformly.

What should I do immediately after discovering water damage?
